HR Frame

In the HR Frame of Organizational behavior, we learn:

  • Organizations exist to serve human needs rather than the reserve.
  • People and organizations need each other. Organizations need ideas, energy, and talent; people need careers, salaries, and opportunities.
  • When the fit between individual and system is poor, one or both suffer. Individuals are exploited or exploit the organization – or both become victims.
  • A good fit benefits both. Individuals find meaningful and satisfying work, and organizations get the talent end energy they need to succeed.

According to Herzberg’s Two Factor Theory, people are influenced by two factors.

Hygiene Factors are needed to ensure an employee does not become dissatisfied. They do not lead to higher level of motivation, but without them there is dissatisfaction.

Motivation Factors are needed in order to motivate an employee into higher performance. These factors resulted from internal generators in employees.

Both these approaches must be done simultaneously. Treat people as best you can so they have minimal of dissatisfaction. Use people so they can achievement, interest, and responsibility and they can grow and advance in their work.

Theory and reality, what a big discrepancy! The truth is to see thing in different perspectives, 將心彼己, and try to strike a balance in both sides.
